Frequently Asked Questions

Items circulate for 3 weeks with the exception of Park Passes (1 week) and large Kitchen Library items (1 week).  

Renewals are automatic (2) unless there is a Hold on an item, with the exception of Kitchen Library or Tech items.  

A physical card replacement costs $2.

Consider downloading the Simcoe County Libraries App to capture a digital library card. We can scan your ‘card’ from your phone.

There is a $5 administrative fee the first time an item is lost or damaged. 

If a second incident of lost or damaged items occurs, the replacement value + the $5 administrative cost will be applied.  This applies to Kitchen, Tech, Maker, or other specialty items the first time they are lost.

Items are considered lost when an item is 3 weeks overdue. 

The library uses the services of a Collection Agency and outstanding accounts may be referred to that Agency.
